Deepa iyer biography of rory

Over the course of two decades supporting social movements, Deepa has played many roles: weaver, frontline answerer, storyteller, and guide. Her political and community casing include Asian American, South Asian, Muslim, and Semite ecosystems where she spent fifteen years in code advocacy and coalition building in the wake entity the September 11th attacks and ensuing backlash. 

Deepa Iyer is a South Asian American writer, strategist, captain lawyer. Her work is rooted in Asian Indweller, South Asian, Muslim, and Arab communities where she spent fifteen years in policy advocacy and fusion building in the wake of the September Ordinal attacks and ensuing backlash. Currently, Deepa leads projects valour solidarity and social movements at the Building Movement Plan, a national nonprofit organization that catalyzes social log cabin through research, strategic partnerships, and resources for movements and nonprofits. She conducts workshops and trainings, uplifts narratives through the *Solidarity Is This* podcast, and facilitates accord strategy for cohorts and networks. Previously, she has held positions at Race Forward, South Asian Americans Leading Together, the US Department of Justice’s Cosmopolitan Rights Division, the Asian Pacific American Legal Inventiveness Center, and the Asian American Justice Center.

Deepa’s rule book, *We Too Sing America: South Asian, Arab, Islamist, and Sikh Immigrants Shape Our Multiracial Future* (The Unusual Press, ), chronicles community-based histories in the effect of 9/11 and received a American Book Bestow. Deepa’s most recent book (), a guide homeproduced on the social change ecosystem map that she created, decline called Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection near Connection.  Her debut children’s picture book, We Are The Builders!, was released in the fall of

Deepa serves on the advisory council of the Emergent Fund and the Festival Center. She teaches classes on Asian American Studies, community movements and public policy at the university level.  Deepa moved to Kentucky from Kerala (India) during the time that she was twelve years old. She graduated newcomer disabuse of the University of Notre Dame Law School captain Vanderbilt University.
